Audio lagging MIDI tracks in Cakewalk Pro Audio 9

I'm trying to record an audio (guitar) track in a song that has all the other parts in midi. I'm using an older (386?) laptop with MagicWave soundcard and Win98. I can get the audio to record, but it plays back in the wrong time. For instance, the first audio note starts on the first beat, but it does not sound until the second beat. In the audio view it is obvious that the sound starts in the wrong place. Help.

You could try moving your midi sequences up a few bars and give the cpu and sequencer a little head way.
