3rd party into Pro Tools...

I'm a pro tools user, I like the program, it's great. However, If one (and I must stress the 'if' here) was looking into a digital computer set up, it's have to be along the lines of:

3 x Focusrite octopre's (or similar) feeding a
MOTU 2408mkIII
into an Apple G4 running
Logic controlled by
Logic Control & two expansions, monitoring on
NS10M's or the Mackies

or something along those lines (edit to taste).

Not a cheap system by any means, so I'm very unlikely to go completely down that road, but enlighten yourself as to the cost of a Pro Tools sytem with the same functionality/quality???
Okay a Control 24 is about the same price as all of the above, but you have to have the investment up front - you can't start with 8 1/0 and control and expand. Not that I'm complaining, I use Logic, Pro Tools and Cubase SX - but I prefer Pro Tools.

Would it not be good if someone wrote a patch for Pro Tools allowing in to support other hardware??? Is it even possible? Doubtful. Food for thought though.
