Don't forget to take some picts of the "tour" to show us later! ;) ;) :)

Btw, Rolf, have you any idea what a nice "minty" GX-270D (with good heads that is ;) ), with both the operator's and service manuals and the original metal take up reel, would go for on the used market ? Just wondering ..

Thanks!

Daniel

PS: I put the belt on the Akai and it works perfect now! Thanks again! :)

Yes, I will bring the camera Daniel. :)
Great the counter is working on your Akai again.
About value if you want to sell, I would say between $ 300 - 500.00 with documents and reels.
I posted one similar Akai yesterday (GX-230 D) for $ 385.00 and it sold same day.
Not as nice as yours Daniel, minor cosmetic flaws but these are popular models.
By the way, second bad GX head that I have seen was found on that machine... :(
Reverse play-head was dead.
Are you thinking about selling yours ?

Great, thanks for the info Rolf!

I was contemplating selling it but still not decided ...

You mean to say that the one you sold had similar problem head as mine ? Did you replace it ?

Bye for now,

Daniel

Yes, the same yellow color but much worse... :(
I had one other Akai here so replaced the whole headstack + relay-board.
Forward play was fine but not reverse... first I thought the relay was bad, as they can create poor contact on auto-reverse but it was the actual head.
