Transferring Tones to a Master Deck

Hello Everyone,
I have two questions. I recently obtained an MRL calibration tape for my Fostex E-16. I calibrated the machine according to steps in the service manual. No problem. I also have a Fostex E-22 2-track master deck. Now, my questions:

After recording on the 16 track is complete an it comes time to mixdown to the 2-track, do I record the tones from my 16-track calibration tape onto the beginning of my 2-track tape so the mastering person can align their machine accordingly?

My next question is: do I have to obtain a calibration tape for the 2-track as well, or do I calibrate it to 0 db(just like I did the 16) when I record the tones from my 16 track calibration tape onto the 2-track?

Sorry if it's a little confusing.

Thanks for any and all help.

All you need to do is record a few sinewaves at the start of the tape at 0vu. It doesn't really matter where they come from. I usually use Audacity to generate them on my linux machine and record them from that. I generally use 100hz, 1khz and 10khz.
