I was given 2 Teac RA41 stereo amps. This is an echo from the past. These were the electronics that were used with a 4010 (I think) transport in the late '60s.

THey are in super shape. I was thinking of gutting them and putting some mic preamps in them. But who knows....

Nice. They look nice at least.

They might be worth more the way they are but that would be cool for mic pre's as well.

They went with the RT40 Transport; the first Teac unit to actually have SelSync.

Thanks for postin' this Dr. ZEE!!!
    Really enjoyed it.
I have a TEAC A-2340,...That one of my clients
from tattooing gave for a partial payment...but
unfortunately there's no sound coming from it at all.
I'm not a very techy type person,...but, I do know how
to clean and demag my tape machines, to keep 'em
    runnin' the way they should.
I've checked all the functions,..and everything seems to work well,
until I try the inputs. The meters light up, but no movement from the needle.
    No sound at all.
    It's a shame, cuz I'd like to use the recorder,..but there isn't a tech
anywhere near where I live, for old analog equipment. (not that I can find, anyway)
I do have some other recorders in use,...but I'd really like to see what
    The 2340 can do.

Sorry O.P.,..wasn't tryin' to hijack the thread,...it's just that when
I saw the 2340 in the vid Dr. ZEE posted,...It reminded me of it.

The 2340 is a great sounding deck. I have the 2340sx. I'm not sure about the 2340, what it's limitations are. A big issue with those and the 3340's is the simulsync pcb, which is right behind the switches in front. Everything goes through that board and if those buttons get hit and pushed in it cracks.

I'd love to include those in the TASCAM wallpaper thread!

Send me a high res version of that shot so that I can add it to the collection!

I feel your pain .... but!!!!!!!! don't feel too bad.
You sure could restore it and then maybe end up dusting it off , or just looking at it or keeping it under a glass cover
Instead! - it serves a good cause now, and does it well like no other would.
