Sound Workshop 34c vs Soundcraft GB4or8 vs soundcraft series two

i am on the fence about a console to replace my soundtracks project 8 topaz that has issues, before i dump 500 bucks or so in recapping and repairing the topaz i thought i might upgrade to a better desk, i am running 3x presonus digimax's into a moto 2408 mk3 into nuendo / protools. this series "two" has been recommended to me as a sleeper console with superior sound quality, can anyone speak to the advantages or disadvantages of the soundcraft series "two" not the ols wood paneled 70's desk, compared to the rest of the upper end consoles in the 1000 - 1500 dollar price range?
