on Channel 8, I can only record a very very low signal to tape. I get a normal level if I monitor the input signal, but when I monitor the repro head (or playback from the sync head), I get an extremely low level, like 20dB less than the input signal.
When I try to adjust the repro level or sel-rep level trim pot, it doesn't seem to do anything.
Playback of pre-recorded material is normal, it only occurs when I try to record new material.
I swapped channel cards and the problem is isolated to channel 8 on the deck, not the channel card.
All other channels work fine. Erase, sync and repro heads are clean.
any ideas?
