Next project: Plate reverb!

Yeah, I know, that's the plan. But I'm keeping an eye on eBay, just in case one WOULD pop up. And hey, $200, not bad... probably will double in price before it gets sold, but if it works it's still not that much money...


And I'm happy to see it's only half the size of the plab in Tape Op, because I don't have that much space. That means I could probably just half their dimensions and it would still work.
 
I think the EMT 250 was an industry standard for many years before digital over-took the reverb market.

I would hold out for one of those if you can find one!

Building a reverb room is also a great way of getting verb naturally too. I have seen some chamber rooms that were basically six hard walls with a good pair of speakers and some microphones placed in the room to pick up various delay times. This might be the cleanest way to add real verb short of renting out a music hall or building your own.
