Hello,
What are the most common tones that I should use at the beginning of my 2-track deck tape for a mastering house to use when sending them my work for mastering?

Thanks to all :)

Golden Mastering asks for the following:
Alignment tones are crucial to the accurate reproduction of your music on a machine other than the one on which it was made. Please provide the following tones at the beginning of your tape: 1 kHz 1min, 10 kHz, 30sec.100 Hz, 30sec.50 Hz.30sec.
You might want to email the mastering house you have in mind though, they could have slightly different preferences. Good luck!

Hey yetipur...that is a really great question...

I don't know for certain...my hunch is that it would be 100Hz, 1kHz and 10kHz...iirc those are the tones on the most stripped down cal tapes, they are the tones on the oscillators on my analog and digital mixers, and I think I read I somewhere...

Sorry to give you a half answer.

I'll see if I can find what it was that I read, and hopefully there will be some more replies.

EDIT: ethyrvalve and were replying at the same time and he submitted first. :D I like his answer much better than mine. :)
