Help with Tascam 488 MK II?

Hey,

I've got this Tascam 488 MK II, although I have been struggling to get it to record anything. There is definitely a signal, but as for recording it.. I'm kind of lost. heheh. Could any of you help me out with this? I posted this in the newb forum, but haven't received any replies.

I downloaded the manual the other day, but it really hasn't done much good. It includes everything but a basic explanation of how to record. Do you know anything about these units?

It does include step-by-step instructions on how to record...starting on page 15. Read the manual.

maybe he has the internet pdf manual which flys around, it really misses the important steps (pages 15-23)...
if the topic starter still has problems answer, i will try to explain, like assigning the tracks,panning etc...
