hey guys,
need some advice. I borrowed an Fostex R8 from a friend for a recording job and it worked perfectly for about 5 minutes. And then it stopped. It does everything but play/record so my guess is the capstan belt is off or broken (the motors sound fine). I tried to open the machine up today but it was a major pain in the ass so I just stoppes before forcing something (it's all plastic).
Does anybody have experience with chancing the belt on the R8??? Also do you know a website which sells belts for it in Europe? Any help would be appreciated.
