Yep. Have one and had it since 1998. A truly great recorder. Sounds great and does not need a great amount of maintanence. Clean the heads, demagnatize. When there are problems with individual tracks, re-lap the heads.

Make sure you look at the E -or- G 16. Forget the B-16 as it's belt drive is really weak.
 
I had the E16 and it was a nice machine. But it ran at 30ips and it used a lot of tape at that speed.
 
thanks so much for the responses.the reason i was asking is that i have an unfinished project that was recorded on a fostex in 1995. i don't know what model and i don't know if it makes a difference as far as finishing it. are the fostex machines very different from each other? i want to get one and get this stuff done, but i don't know which model to look for. any more info?thanks. jmac
