I'm testing my new Doepfer modular.

I'don't have a deep experience with analog, I like it but I feel like it is a bit too much "precise".

    Any experience with it?

I don't have a Doepfer but I do have a synthizers.com modular. Is what you are calling precise actually control? Control in the sense that the synth does not do anything for you (in terms of setup), you must precisely set all of the parameters of the sound you are looking for.

There is a learning curve in starting with a simple sound and adding on various filters, shapers, and such that allow you to craft each aspect of the sound into a complex, full whole.

There should be a few sites that have tutorials on setting up common sounds for your synth. There are for mine and I found them quite informative. They helped me understand the possibilities of having control of the sounds.

    My 2 cents
