Convert high impedance ins on M-30 to balanced XLR

lo.fi.love

Functionally obsessed.
Someone here mentioned modding the M-30 to replace the high impedance mic ins on channels 7 & 8 with balanced XLR.

Who was this, and how was it done? I'm really curious because I might be recording live shows with eight mics.

Thanks!

Easiest way to d it is get a couple of these: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062443

These are kind of pricey ut the quality is just fine. You may be able to get them cheaper by another brand at FullCompass or possibly eve Musician's Friend.

Bottom line though is that these will convert those inputs to low impedance balanced and you won't have to carve up your M-30...plug and play.

Be sure to check the polarity of any XLR adaptor you use. Some are wired pin 3 hot.
