clicking / popping sound on 2 different Tracks

Hi everyone,

I have a Yamaha 4-track and I am starting to notice a 'clicking' or 'popping' like sound on two of the 4 tracks during play back.

Any ideas what would be causing this ?

I clean the heads often and I de-magnetize after about 10 hours of recording.

Could be the tape. Could be caused by any number of other reasons too. Try to exclude everything from the signal chain.
