Anyone used truetone hi bias cassettes?

Please let us know how these turn out. With cassette supplies running low, I'm really considering these as well.

Thanks!

last nite, before i ordered, i called them first and was told the tapes were in stock so i then placed my order.

2 hours later i get an email saying they tapes are out of stock and on backorder and when M.F. gets them, they will ship asap.

now, to the best of my knowledge, no cassettes are currently being made anywhere on the planet. so i don't know how they think they'll get any more.

called them back this a.m., CSR said tapes are in stock, order is being packed as we spoke, and the backorder notice had to be a mistake.

so, we'll see what happens.

edit-it'll be easy to see/hear how good they are sound wise. but re longevity, who knows. won't know for many, many years.

I suspect that those come from these guys: http://www.trutone.com/ and that you might be able to order them direct. A bit of history on Trutone.... When I worked at Pickwick Records as a remastering engineer, Trutone did all the metalwork for getting the records done. I would send my tapes off to them in NJ and a week later a test pressing would arrive. They're good folks (or, at least they were in 1975-79 or so). ;)
