hi,
i know i sound retared but how do you attach the tape from the first reel to the second reel? i know how to load it but not how to attach it.also will 499 work with it? thanx,

Try using 1/4" splicing tape. Just stick some to the end of the leader tape, half on half off, and then you can use the exposed half to affix the leader to the take up reel.

You can also just put it in and squeeze it into place with itself. After a couple of turns it usually stays. This requires technique though.
