Yes, there are tons of soft synths out there, a lot of outstanding ones available for free or very inexpensively. If you've wanted some Wusik instruments/utilities, there's a little time left to get them all---and even more in the pipeline. Ironically, once you get the efficient workflow you get sidetracked by the amazing sounds you can create. Some fascinating stuff at a bargain price.
