How do I know if I need to download 32 or 64-bit VSTs?

I downloaded a bunch of free VSTs, and yet none of them show up in my FL Studio.

My computer is running 64-bit Windows, but when installing my FL Studio, I noticed that it installed as 32-bit. Because of that, I downloaded all 32-bit VSTs.
Should I have downloaded 64-bit instead?

It's more the software hardware combination. If the computer runs 64 bit, and your chosen software runs 64 bit, you can use 32 bit vstis UNTIL the software says you can't. Cubase, for example. I was fine until the update when it suddenly removed totally support for 32 bit ones, and my old projects were full of them. I did manage to get the critical ones running on a bridge application, but since then everything I buy or download is 64. I just avoid 32 totally. Installing a 32 bit application is time limited. At some point, your next update will I get it into the 64 bit only world, so you have a clock ticking.

So even after downloading only 64-bit VSTs, and dragging the .dll files to the VST folder, I still can't get them to show up in FL Studio.
Anyone have any insight as to what I'm doing wrong?
