Problem with ART PRO VLA 2

Hi newbie here

I have an ART PRO VLA2 which is a few years old and has started to cut out on channel 1, when pressing the bypass switch. It sounds to me like a bad valve, so I decided to remove the top to try and replace the channel one valve. After removing the 10 screws, I'm finding it impossible to remove the top of the casing. I've looked at a few videos on You Tube where removal of the casing seems very straightforward. I've removed exactly the same 10 screws that they have done but I'm still unable to move the casing.

Has anyone else experienced this - and if so how did you resolve it? Any ideas before I resort to a hammer and chisel!

Thanks in advance for any help/advice you can give.
