Since many of us are getting or already have new ribbon mics I figured it might be helpful if there was a list of mic pres with enough gain for them.
I read somewhere that a proper pre for ribbons should have at least 70dB of gain. Not sure if that is accurate but I am going to use it as the baseline for qualifying pres for ribbon use. Only 70dB and above need apply.
