We've just replaced all of our wide area networking equipment at work and I found that I have several left over rack rails. I honestly don't know how that could've happened. I thought my estimates were really close...
Anyway, I'm going to be installing these into the computer desk that I use for my recording equipment and I have a question.
Does bolting the equipment directly to the rack cause problems with groud loops ? Since all of the things have grounded cases, it seems like it might.
Should I use some kind of insulating spacers to isolate the units from the rack?
