anyone know how to make a patchbay?

I'm planning to make my own rack. (3 spaces so it will fit under a shelf in my mixing desk, a converted computer desk) I'm sure i wont have any problems making it, but i would like to have a patch bay so that i could just plug into the front. I need all three spaces and can't fit four so i was wondering if I could somehow build a patch bay that was on top (i could fit maybe another 3/4 inch in height) Just something simple like what's on my SKB pedal board. Or maybe if there's like a 1/2 rack patchbay that i could mount next to my microverb. (or maybe make one to go there)

Check out the Dragon's section on making patchbays, very informative. Question though, they only cost around seventy toeighty bucks so why go through the hassle unless your building a very small one. Remember in the future you might have more equipment you want to hook-up through this patchbay.
