Using Alesis v49 with GarageBand

Hi there, I'm struggling to figure out how to use the knobs on the Alesis v49 to control functions in GarageBand. I can hear notes and the pitch wheel works, but don't know how to assign functions to the touchpad and knobs.

Unfortunately, I don’t think GarageBand offers any mapping features. They may have updated it, though, so I could be wrong.
