syncing problemL HDR to sequencer via MTC

ok, hello group and Happy Holidays. This may be a FAQ, but I am having a major latency problem when syncing my Roland VS 880VX hard disk recorder (master) to my sequencer, Master Tracks Pro. Here's the deal:

1. Followed directions in VS880VX Owners Manual to sync the VX to the computer sequencer

2. Sync'd no problem

3. Tested with a pre-recorded 32 measure drum sequence
Problem: Sequencer did not play the drum machine until measure number 73, but the 880 sync'd up with the sequencer fine...

Did I miss something?

That's not a 'latency' issue but it is wierd. Are you trying to trigger the drums on the vs or an external drum machine? What controller message happens in measure 73 that would trigger it to start? Look there and whetever you find put it in measure 1 ;)

Trying to trigger the ext. drum machine. Works fine on another sequence I have...just deleted some measures in the beginning of the song. I suspect it is a controller midi message prob. It's no longer starting at measure 73, but at measure #2 now...weird, but I'll try your suggestion ...
