If you use this in GB you can use Apple sounds etc. If I want to use Helm or other non MAc sound, how do I set it up
in Garageband,/??or an external sound module...

I got the 49+ but it would be better at times to use the keyboard without the computer. I know there are sound modules that help do this.
I assume you hook up and amp and speakers to the module to get sound. Any suggestions on a used module that would fit the bill on that
    ?

The VP9000 is excellent. A midi controller is needed. No USB. Has Roland's Elastic audio engine. There is interfacing software that allows you to bring samples into the DAW. Even from 1999. V-Producer.
