Hey. I have a Yamaha Keyboard that i use as a midi controller, I run it from its midi output, with a cable, to the midi input on my delta 1010. I was just wondering what purpose the midi input on it serves?
What can i do with this?
Thanks alot
J

I own a similar Yamaha. The MIDI input allows you to feed it a MIDI stream and play back through the speakers using the onboard sounds.

Providing, that is, you have set the 'local on/off' setting on the keyboard to the 'off' position, thereby breaking the connection between the sound source inside and the keyboard.

If you can't get to those settings from the front panel of your Yamaha, you can download the shareware midi utility MIDIOX and send continuous controller 122 which is the 'local on/off' continuous controller.
