Daisy chain midi instruments? (newbie question)

So, I have two midi instruments I use: a keyboard and a drum set. I'm getting tired of swapping cables into my interface every time I switch instruments, so I was wondering if there's a way to hook them both up at the same time.

I never use the two instruments at the same time, and they are both used as inputs to my computer. I don't use either for generating any sounds. The drum module only has two midi jacks "in" and "out/thru". the keyboard has three "in", "out", and "thru".

If you expect to be expanding your controller set anytime soon they make a 'quadra merger' too...

Get a MIDI book....

You will find that you can daisy-chain your devices if you assign each to a particular channel.... (you can have 16 channels on a "chain".)
