Ditto scrubs on the M179 (fullcompass.com has a good price on it).

If money is really tight, also look at the GXL3000, JoeMeek JM37 and JM37DP, and CAD M177.

The MXL603 is not an LDC.

Knowing what your uses for the mic will be would help us with our suggestions.

I'm looking for a cheap/decent drum mono overhead.

Would a AT2020 work well?
