What microphone should I use for home video recording?

I'm doing some home video recording (think youtube quality stuff) and looking for microphones to record individual people talking, something like lapel mics. We're doing a cooking show and want people to be able to move around but also be heard whenever they speak. On the cheaper end of the spectrum, what would you suggest? Maybe not the right place for this, but is the audio in this case something I'd want to implement with the camera or record externally? Thanks for the help.

So you're not happy with the sound you get from your webcam's built in mic? Isn't that that standard for YouTube? :D

Honestly almost any microphone that isn't attached to a headset or a camera will probably give you decent enough tone for Youtube. When you get one, play around with it for a while, and figure out how to best situate and set the levels it to get clear sound. Do a scratch recording of your chefs going through some of the basic motions they'll do, and see what needs to be fixed.
