The sticky' thing's are cool.I swear, someone needs to sticky this question...
Next time you have a question, use the search funtion on that bar at the top right. We get tired of answering the same question over and over again. ...
wait...the shure sm58 is actually the shure sm57 with a ball on the end?
The only big difference that I hate is ... if you drop a 58 the grill just gets slightly dented. The 57's plastic grill head will break.
why would you say that? I thought both sm57 and sm58 are industry standard and good microphonesI prefer the 58 to have a condom. They shouldn't be allowed to breed.
I just have a built in prejudice against 45+ year old gear still trading on past glories!.
57 is basically a 58 without a condom. Or helmet I suppose is more accurate. Both have been used in adult films. Well, those freaky kind that FOH guys share.
I don't like them at all. They were great 40 years ago when I first started going full time with music but now I think every Ev mic kills them .... the new Sennheiser dynamics kill them ...... and I have no doubt there are dozens and dozens of other dynamics that also kill them.why would you say that? I thought both sm57 and sm58 are industry standard and good microphones
I find them dull and congested sounding.
