I shouldn't really need another mic pre. I have a Demeter HM-1, my next door neighbors have 3 channels of APIs in a lunchbox which they've let me borrow from time to time for my Neuman U-89, Crown CM700s and assorted dynamics.

...so why am I Jonesing for a Focusrite Red-7?

For the worst reason imaginable: It looks so f'ing cool. I hear it sounds pretty good too.
