Repairing condenser mics, any tips out there?

I've been repairing dynamic mics for years and I've become very good at it. Of course there not much inside them.

But I also have a stack of AKG and Sennheiser SDC's which I made some half hearted attempts at, but put aside again. :(

A common problem seems to be that they "kind of" work, but the sound is bad and poppy like a bad pot on an amp.

Any comments, tips etc?

Sounds like either bad grounding or possibly you should check the caps.

OK, thanks, I'll try that. Caps are the same as Dynamics right; no resistance equals dead capsule?

Are there such things as internal parts that are, in general, prone to quit?
