Anyone listen to this track carefully? Ben Gibbard does a call and response with the left and right channels. It sounds to me like he is using a condenser on the left and a dynamic (with a bit of distortion on the right.) Any other theories?

(posting in the mic forum b/c thought would get some expert opinions.)
 
I guess you don't know about TapeOp do you? Now, I know that we're not supposed to advertise other message boards here, but I really think you're more likely to get an answer to your question over there. They have a recording message board just like this one except it's filled with tons of indie kids like yourself that listen to bands like the postal service and would probably be glad to help you out.
 
IMHO it's fine to mention other BBS's.

In fact, the more people go to different ones, the more they participate in EACH one usually!

now if you think about this... sending people to other boards is good... because you send them there for one thing and they send others here for certain things. Its a give take relationship ;)
