I'm looking to get a new mic.
I've looked around and I can't make up mind.
Listen to some of my songs and let me know what mic would be best for my voice and style. cuz I don't know. lol

Crappy, for lack of a better word. Yup. Pure, grade-A crapola. In fact, I'm quite impressed, as I don't think I've ever seen so much crap in one, complete, thorough, and rather comprehensive list.


Is "None of the above" an option? :D

Sorry I'm on dialup here so I won't be downloading your tunes :)

I had a look at the AT2020 before and judging from the specs and frequency response I reckon it uses the same capsule as the AT3035. It has no pad, rolloff and is probably assembled in some dodgier part of asia - whcih explains the difference in price tag.

If it is indeed the poor sibling on the 3035 it should do respectably on vocals.

The other mics are not worth considering.

Considering the current exchange rates you would be completely insane to buy anything in the UK
£99 = $186 subtracting $25 for postage thet leaves you with $161 to spend on ebay

$99 gets a MXL V67G or Studio Projects B1

Since its rap you should consider a decent dynamic - hopefully someone who knows something about rap can recommend one.

Edit: Actually if you're extremely lucky you might pick up an M88 on ebay for $161 dollars - that would probably be an excellent move
