Beside the all-rounder stereo pair I'm looking for THE ideal mic to record a guitar amp.
Yes, I am aware that there is not THE mic here, there are many factors involved, of course it is always a matter of taste.
I am so far that I have decided to 90% for a Royer, but now the question arises whether the R-121, or the R-122 MKII.
Are the following thoughts correct?
If I really only want a mic for guitar amp recordings, it would be the R-121.
If, on the other hand, I like the idea of using this mic to record other instrument, let's say acoustic guitar, strings (close-up) or vocals, the active one, the R-122 MKII, would be the right choice.
