Hey guys would the mxl v67g be a good choice for podcasting? Would it be an upgrade from my blue snowball.and if my blue snowball doesnt pickup fan noise will this pick up ambient noise? Thanks!

Hmmmm well what are you not liking about the Snowball? The v67g is a good entry-level mic (I have one) but I've never used it on podcasting. Not sure how the sensitivities compare between the v67g and the Snowball but I wouldn't think it would pick up much more ambient noise.

You're aware that you would need an audio interface of some sort as well, right?

I dont like the hollow sound it gives.i want a more rich dark sound.

Ahhh ok. Well, the v67g, like most cheaper LDCs, is pretty bright...if you're into rich dark lusciousness, maybe try a dynamic mic, like radio broadcasters use! I've got the electro-voice re320 but that runs about $300. You could always try an sm57.

Just tossing around ideas :D
