I'm looking for a multi-purpose condenser mic.

I've never owned one. And it's about time I did. the dynamic mics just aren't cutting it for me anymore.
I've been looking on Google and Amazon.. and I see a lot of varieties. Read several reviews.. seems like some condensers perform better at some tasks than others?
I would like to use it for acoustic guitar, acoustic drums, and vocals. Well I'm sure a decent mic could do ALL that, but..
I guess I'm just looking for some opinions, testimony.. from anyone who uses them. If anyone has some suggestions...
Budget: I wouldn't mind dropping $500-600, if I could get several years out of it.

At that price range, I like the Mojave 201 FET and the Rode NTK (tube). Some like the Audio Technica mics in that range, but they don't flatter my speaking voice.
