Just as my title says, my mic stopped picking up any sound and only picks up a loud static noise.
My mic is an XLR AT2020 and I have a phantom power 48V

I've tried rebotting my pc
reinstalling drivers
unplugging cables in and out

I don't know how else to troubleshoot this and fix it

It could be the cables but I don't know how to tell which one needs to be fixed/replaced or how it can be fixed/replaced.

This happened very suddenly, one second it was working, the other second, it stopped working. I wasn't moving anything or doing anything, it just happened.

What 'phantom power' do you have? It's most likely the culprit. How are you getting the sound into your computer - do you have an audio interface?

Yup, a little more accurate info and a sound sample would help.

Do you have another XLR cable that you know works?

This is the one, I don't have an audio interface, no.
It's a Neewer 1-Channel 48V Phantom Power Supply

I don't have another XLR cable, I might really just end up buying another phantom power and xlr cables
I can't post any links right now but I will try to message you one!

It would help to know what your whole signal path is. Fill in the "???"..

AT2020 >> Neewer Phantom supply >> ???

If you're recording into a computer, your money would be better spent buying a USB interface rather than another phantom power supply. The USB interface will include 48v phantom voltage and if you're going into an 1/8"/3.5mm jack into the computer, the interface will give you an improvement in the audio.

Are you using Windows 10?
