Hello All !!!
this is my first post on this forum, and i need HELP
i'm looking for microphone capsules (condenser or dynamic) to amplify my instruments (Guitar, Accordion, Viola, Dulcimer ...) on stage.
microphone capsules will be connected to SHURE PGX1 Bodypack Transmitters

in my country we have the opportunity to shop from Mouser.com

PLEASE .... help me choose good quality and low price (up to 10$ per unit) microphone capsules from Mouser

Thanks in advance

Is this spam for mouser.com? Looks to be an electronics parts supplier.

You don't want 'capsules' - that's the internal part on the mic that does the audio-to-electric conversion. You want complete microphones. The PGX1 doesn't supply phantom power, so you'll either need to use dynamic mics or condensor mics that have internal battery power. You're not going to get anything that sounds good for $10 each! Specialty mics that attach to instruments like a viola (rahter than being stand-mounted in front of them) are quite expensive. You get what you pay for.

On rare occasion, very inexpensive mics provide surprising results. More often than not, this is not the case. Save your money and buy something better than $10 units.

Maybe the OP thinks he can get $10 capsules, make his own bodies, connectors, etc, for use with the Shure transmitters to save money.

the mp573 is a two stages, single ended class a preamp, based on the design that was originally used in the neve 1290/1073 modules, that has been adapted to the '500' format of api.just install it in your api* compatible lunchboxtm rack and start recording.the sound of the mp573, like its model is full, silky, detailed and musical, slightly larger than life, very complimentary to a digital recording environment.the mp573 is great on vocals, acoustic instruments and generally all close miked sources that need to be pushed forward in the mix.

spammer?!

thanks all for answers guys

unfortunately i do not have the buget to buy brand microphones SHURE, AKG,Audio-Technica, Sennheiser ...

the idea is that - i would like to made by me, i have some experience in sound, soldering and electronics in general

thanks for CONTACT MIC verion, but exclude from the list
i'm looking for ELECTRET or DYNAMIC microphone parts

i need capsules parameters:
good frequency response
working voltage up to 2V
omni or unidirectional
impedance up to 2.2kohm
possible parallel soldering of several capsules

i found a lot of information about Panasonic WM-61A, but these capsules are no longer produced
now looking for something similar, something new... but tested by connoisseurs
or something Dynamic Capsule or Speaker Transducer, but i'm not sure they can find on Mouser

PLEASE HELP

P.S. sorry for my English

Hi,
Searching for DIY microphones will bring up plenty of stuff but it sounds like you're looking for a cheaper/different/less conventional thing.

Try putting 'electret' into your search terms.
That panasonic is an electret capsule; I'm sure there are plenty of similar parts available. :)

I know there are plenty of $2 preamp circuits out there for you to learn or test with, too.
Try breadboarding instead of soldering to start off. That way you can build, record, listen, change, record, listen.

Hope that helps.

Behringer stage mics, pack of 3 for well under $100 and they sound OK not as good as an SM58 but will do the job.

However if you really want to make something yourself I understand and respect that.

If you want a good mic, you'd probably save money just by buying one.

Building your own could be very rewarding and get you some excellent results, but I doubt you'll be able to make anything that you're really happy with until you've botched a few mics and spent more than the $80 it takes for an SM57

Unless you just enjoy doing this sort of thing as a hobby, by the time you buy a capsule, connectors, cable, mounts and a couple of cups of coffee to keep you awake while you're soldering, you might as well just buy something.

For live work with radio mic pacs, I've had good results lately buying from a dreaded Chinese supplier on eBay at http://stores.ebay.com/mic-company (hope that link works for you...I get routed to an Aussie eBay server but think it should give you the main one.

Anyhow, no, their mics aren't like a $250 clip on Shure or Sennheiser and no, they're not as rugged. However, with a bit of EQ they sound fine and the expensive mics don't last ten times as long. I've ordered from them several times now and they tend to ship the same day and, to Aus at least, I usually have them within 7-10 days.

Omnis and wide cardioids sound nice(r'.. ) but directional- tighter patterns, might be more practical for for stage. But there, you get into wanting tailored (reduced) low ends to balance the out the proximity effect.
I used DPA as sort of a target template'.
DPA Microphones :: Microphone Guide
and trimmed a bit of money going with Audix
Audix M44 - Miniature Condenser Mic
Interchangeable capsules, and they are sold separately, though they don't mention it for some reason, ..but still, fully assembled mics.

"..possible parallel soldering of several capsules" ? Curious what that would be.

The GLS 57 mics @ $30 each are also OK (if not as good as SM57). How much is your time worth niggling around trying to cobble something together from cheap parts?

One thing I forgot last night is you def need to think about shock mounting too. When you mount a mic, on an acoustic guitar, or bass fiddle for example you pick up a ton of sub freq noises from the knocking and movement transmitted from the instrument. (That's even with the low contour built into the mic.

hello dear friends
my problem was resolved
i purchased from Mouser.com these PUI Audio AUM-5247L-R capsules, and works great ... good sound ... the days ahead, i will try to post a video comparison between AKG C519, Shure BETA 98H and my DIY stage mic PUI Audio AUM-5247L-R.
Thank you all for your help, and thanks for this forum
