sustain pedal for rhodes

do you need the rhodes sustain pedal for it to work, or would any generic one work ok?

If it has a standard jack input, presumably a sustain pedal with a polarity switch would do the trick (marketed as a "Dual Sustain Pedal"). Some keyboards require positive tip jack, others need negative tip jack. The switchable sustain pedal therefore works with any keyboard whose sustain input is a standard jack type.

wait.......a rhodes piano isn't a sythesiszer, it's a real piano that has pickups, so of course it can't use a 1/4" sustain pedal.....This was a stupid question. I think I'll make my own pedal.
