midi editor

i'd like to get myself a simple but powerful midi/vst program.

the studio software i currently have (N-Track) supports DX and VST intruments, but whenever the instrument is signifigantly large, say a 10Mb+ Korg Legacy file, it won't load properly.

is anybody using an editor that can handle those large files?

i'm not looking for an audio suite to replace my current one, ex: Cubase or Pro-Tools, i guess i'm just loking for a stand alone midi program that i can compose with.

Thanks in advance.

Try Tracktion. It rocks. There's a free demo version there and if you like it as much as I do it's only $80. And it WILL run the Korg Legacy VSTi...

I'm also an N-Track user. Love it for audio, but when I started getting into midi I went out and got a copy of CubaseSE. Only $99, unlimited midi tracks and pretty much all the midi processing tools of all the other Cubase line.

And I can still bounce everything over to N.....
