Free piano vsts ~= digital piano quality?

Would you say that MDA piano is about equivalent to the piano sound you would find on something like a Casio Privia? Would you say MDA piano is superior to 4Front's piano module?
 
i really dig the privia's for their action. the sounds... not so much. any onboard piano sounds in synths/hardware units in that price range are bound to suffer from the limitations of the components involved-- storage, d/a converters, computing power and keeping any latency to a bare minimum.
 
there's soooooo much work in getting a good piano sound... plus # of samples... all 88 keys(hopefully)... with sustain pedal... without sustain pedal... %of harp resonance.... different perspectives on miking.... how many velocity levels.... geez that's alot of samples... so the likelyhood that you'll find someone giving away a good one is ... well nil...

i just copped the new garritan steinway... very cool... and three versions available... $100-400 depending on how neurotic you are about your sound...
