Convert SVQ file

I am using a Roland XP-60 keyboard and am trying to convert a SVQ file to a midifile. I get a message on the display that reads "You can not save this file as an SMF".
Cake walk will not recognize the SVQ file , any idea how to open file and remove whatever is blocking this action ?

Make the Roland the midi master and Cakewalk the midi slave (switch it to external clock) --- then play the sequence in real time.

The result may be a few clock pulses off, but nothing some judicious quantizing won't fix.

Then you can save it in SMF format or whatever you choose...

I know the post is old... but just load it in the xp-60 (from the disk drive of the xp-60) then save it as a midi file.
