Casio WK 6500 as midi controller

I have a Casio WK 6500 keyboard. The only possible midi connection is a USB port connection. I am using Cakewalk on a Windows 10 64bit computer. How do I set it up (if it's possible) to act as a midi controller? Any software that I need? Do I need to assign anything to anything (not that I know how, 'cuz I don't - total newbie).

What is it that you would actually like to do?

There are many possibilities.

Connect Casio to computer via USB cable. You shold be able to select it as a midi device in Cakewalk. I don't know Cakewalk, so thers might have to chip in.

Once Cakewalk recognises it, you can then play the Casio and record the midi in Cakewalk.

Within CW you can play it back, either back into and through the Casio, or through a virtual instrument you insert into the the track.

These are the first steps to sort out.
