    I thought the carvin I have wasn't made this way, but it is. Has anyone had any trouble with this practice? I guess it's been a practice in tube amps for 15-20 years.

    Here's a pic. Notice at the top of the circut board, the circles, that is where the tubes attatch right to it.



    If anything fails, will a carbon comp resistor even fit, everything is so...........tight and small, and that's not always a good thing.
