Is there anyway to tighten up a set neck?

Well, I certainly don't want to pick a fight being new here and all, but if you want to know what I do or don't understand about it you can Google me. My company is called CNC Guitar Parts. Please don't think I'm plugging it. Our customers are manufacturers.

I don't need to google anything. I know from the advice that you offered you do not know how a truss rod works, what it is intended to do and that it can not cause the problems the OP has. Think about it. I also know that inexperienced hands on a truss rod can be damaging.

Oh and to balance out I have been making guitars and other musical instruments with over thirty years in the industry.. That doesn't make me right. What makes me right is knowing stuff and examining each question on it's evidence and merit.. Have a nice day.
