Pat Metheny - Hybrid Picking?

I've known for a long time that Pat will employ some hybrid picking for chords at times, but I didn't know that he ever used it in his single-note playing.

If you look at 6:28 in this video, however (right after it cuts back to a wide shot), it really looks as though he's using hybrid picking during the descending chromatic minor 3rds lick.

Can anyone confirm that they've seen him doing this before?

At 6.28 the video cuts to another angle so I couldn't really tell.
