LR Baggs LR-T CV pickup in Breedlove 12 string. Any experience?

Curious whether anyone has experience with this pickup/preamp combo. I spoke with the Breedlove tech dept, and they told me it is an under saddle piezo film (not crystals). They said it gives a much better linear response compared with older style pickups.

I am in the market for a 12 string to record with, and there is a like-new one of these guitars available locally for about $500. I like the guitar acoustically, but I cannot always mic my instruments, so I want to get a 12 string with a pickup that sounds good when recording.

Any comments would be appreciated

I've got an older Seagull 12 string with a LR Baggs and it's the best pickup I've ever had in an acoustic guitar. That being said, tone is subjective and recording direct is never going to beat mics.

I would say if the guitar sounds and plays good, at that price the pickup should be a secondary issue.

A lot of people like the LRBaggs pickup (and a lot don't! It's all subjective). Bring an amp with you and check out how YOU like the plugged-in sound.
