Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Gold Top

I had a 70's one that I traded, you will find those pickups are bright but sweet.

Looking forward to it. The guitar is due to arrive on Tuesday. Going to take the day off, give wifey $100 bucks to go to casino, and I'm going to rock out.

I just got my guitar from AMS in the mail (Fed X)

Initial inspection, no finish blemishes.

Tuned up okay.

ALL 4 OF THE KNOBS ARE CROOKED.

What the FUCK?!?>

$1,500.00 gets me this?

They wobble when you turn them. It's like the pot shaft is bent.

I checked to see if the knobs were seated properly. They seem to be.

The bridge pup is loose too.

I already have it packed back up.

Called AMS for an exchange.

Going to drop it off at UPS later.

Wow that sucks man. Chalk another up to Gibson quality control. Or maybe it was banged during shipping? I can't image they'd let one out the door with bent pot shafts. Who knows? This is why I played about 200 before I bought one.

Hope it all works out dude.

crappy. buying through the mail is so convenient, but it sure does suck for guitars. sorry it didn't work out.

I'd say shipping. The guitar case doesn't seem to good, there's a little wiggle room inside there.

The loose pup, that's bad quality control.

You have to really go some to bend the tuner posts. I'd say it has been dropped before shipping and out of the case and after the factory setup too because they use speed winders and you just couldn't wind them with the buttons off centre.. Which four of the tuners? Sadly the pre delivery check on most factory stock is piss poor these days. I get a lot of work setting up branded guitars pre sale so I don't spose I should moan. Yours does sound extreme.

Hope you get a goodun next time, shipping back is a pain. I had to do it today because some dumb inrewebz company sent me the wrong lamp module for my projector.

I think he's referring to the volume and tone control knob shafts being bent rather than the tuners.

I've never seen that happen to a guitar before. Seems like it would be kinda hard to do.

Sorry man. Hope the next one works out better - that's a fine looking instrument...

Yeah, the volume and tone knobs.

Sent guitar back this morning.

I've wanted a real Les Paul since I was a kid, I finally get one......

I play the studio's at GC all the time, I could afford one of those, but you pay for what you get.

I don't know how to explain it.

When you turn the know, they wiggle, not loose, the turn lop sided.

I tried pulling them off, but they wouldn't budge.

They were also stiff to turn. The knobs on my Epi Clone turn real easy.

Thats unforgivable. The wiring loom on those is pretty simple and to mess up the pots like that is hard. I would still suggest that it was done at manufacture because that really wouldn't happen in transit. At least I've never seen it in over 30 years. Not on all four pots and rarely any of them.Hope the next one is a winner..
